1:1 BYOD iPad Program
At Camberwell South PS, we utilise digital technologies to enhance learning opportunities for our students. As part of our 1:1 iPad program, students are encouraged to bring an iPad from home, as this allows them to share some of their learning with their family. For our senior students, it also provides the opportunity to complete extra revision at home. If students are unable to bring an iPad to school, we have a small number available in each classroom for shared use.
iPads - Prep to Year 2
As a learning enhancement tool in the classroom, our junior students typically use their iPads twice a week in supported literacy activities. iPad use is highly structured and provides rich learning opportunities, including listening to a range of texts through the Bug Club app.
iPads - Year 3 to Year 6
Students in Year 3 to Year 6 use iPads for NAPLAN as well as learning enhancement tools in the classroom for some maths tasks and occasionally for research and publishing work. Our Year 5 and 6 students begin submitting some work to teachers through Google Classroom, as they build up their capabilities to be successful learners as they transition to secondary education.
Additionally, students will have the opportunity to practice their French vocabulary through the Linguascope and Duolingo apps, as well as create music through GarageBand.
