Thank you for taking the time to view the Camberwell South Primary School webpage. Whether you are interested in Prep next year or are moving schools we are happy to take you on a tour and show you our fantastic school. There are so many great schools in Boroondara and it's important you take the time to look at the strengths of each school and pick the best fit for your child.
Central to our success in curriculum is the work we do behind the scenes to build student confidence and resilience as part of our wellbeing program. Each year we start with a focus on eight key attributes:
Innovation
Respect
Pride
Resilience
Curiosity
Open-Mindedness
Empathy
Gratitude
These attributes are explicitly taught at the beginning of the year and form the basis for discussions about how we want to act and learn throughout the year. We are a Resilience Project partner school. All students have journals and spend time each week focusing on wellbeing.
We have a broad specialist program to engage the minds and bodies of all students from Prep to Six. We offer Physical Education all year and three terms of Music, Visual Art, STEM and French. Students in Years Three to Six also participate in a term of media arts each year.
What you can't see on a website or on a school tour, is the strong sense of community we have at Camberwell South. Each class has a parent representative who will welcome you into the school and organise social events throughout the year. We have a very active School Council and Sub-Committees who are heavily involved in the development of the school.
We offer a number of extra-curricular programs for your child to participate in. Our instrumental program is extremely popular, along with dance club, chess club, art club, Lego club and code club. The school is also connected with the South Camberwell Basketball Club with many of our students playing in their teams.
Whether you are looking for Prep in 2025 or needing a change, give us a call and register for a tour. We'd love to show you our fantastic school. You can call the school office on 9889 4295 or email the school here
Kind Regards
